Almost everyone we know has been to Newt’s but not everyone has had everything, right:)? If you have or you haven’t dined at Newt’s here’s the dish we had this week.

Another visit to our neighborhood bar and grill. Because of time constraints we have dined here twice in the last couple of weeks. The first time my husband had his fave Todd burger. I decided to try something I haven’t had before- the fish and chips. I confirmed with our awesome server that the batter was the same batter that is on the chicken strips. It was.This was SO good! The batter is light and not too greasy. Thick and flaky fillets and they give you a generous portion. I subbed coleslaw for the fries. Never hesitate to order the fries because they are very good. The fish was so good that I ordered it a second time on our next visit this week. This time, I think they left it in the fryer too long. The color of the batter was considerably darker, crispier and it was considerably more greasy than the first batch. I also had 2 little french fries on my plate. Weird, because I didn’t order any fries. They must have been cooked in the same basket as my fish? I would still recommend trying the fish. The pic is of the first time I ordered it. First the free popcorn and then on to dinner. My husband had the Todd burger which is topped with eggs, bacon and cheese on a bun…not my thing at all but he LOVES it. I ordered the smokey ranch burger and added mushrooms. It is topped with bacon, Swiss, sauteed onions and smoky ranch sauce. This burger is so good. I asked for the ranch sauce to be served on the side. Either way it is delicious. They have been awarded the best burger in town several years in a row. The staff is always very friendly, casual and efficient and I have never seen them write anything down. The music they play is awesome too. It doesn’t matter if you visit the north, south or downtown location (the original), the quality and atmosphere are the same.
