Los Arcos Kitchen and Cantina

Finally. After the crazy year of 2020 we are back to writing about our dining experiences! This last week we dined at Los Arcos the first night we could after some of the restrictions were lifted on restaurants. Los Arcos is located by the Rochester International Airport. We have not had Mexican food like this! No matter where you live it is definitely worth the drive to experience what Los Arcos has to offer. Even the simple dishes score at an elevated flavor level. I ordered a combo. You can pick two items and it comes with rice and beans. I chose the chimichanga with ground beef and a light queso sauce (this chimi is smaller than you may be used to and not crunchy deep fried which made it even better). I also chose the standard soft taco with ground beef which tasted anything but standard. Somehow they elevate the flavor of even this simple item! It was a delicious soft shell. I am not a rice and beans fan so I passed them on to my husband who loves them and said they were delicious.

Scott had the Enchiladas Veracruz. He absolutely loved them.

Two delicious enchiladas stuffed with perfectly seasoned shrimp, scallops and crab topped with their creamy cheese sauce. He described the enchiladas as succulent and said it was overall the best seafood he has ever had. This entrée is served with Mexican rice and crema salad. He can’t wait to go back and order it again!

The flavor that they infuse into their dishes differentiates itself from any other Mexican restaurant in the area and the prices are reasonable. The margaritas are tasty too. They, of course, bring a basket of chips and some salsa to the table when you are seated but they also add a creamy bean dip which you can see in the upper right hand corner of the enchilada pic. Our server was very attentive even though it was a busy night. Carien did an excellent job.

We will hopefully be going here many times in the future. We would suggest calling ahead…we had to wait to be seated…on a Monday night.

Well done Los Arcos!
