Hot Chip Burger Bar

Run:)!! You will want to experience one of Rochester’s newest swank eateries very soon. Hot Chip replaces Zzest in the strip mall south of Apache Mall near Trader Joe’s. We visited this revamped establishment on the second weekend that it was open and it was packed. Even though there were a lot of tables full of burger loving people, it did not take long to get seated. When the temps are warmer, the awesome outside  patio will allow for much more seating. Unfortunately, but also understandably, they do not take reservations.

All of the orders are served on aluminum trays which are much like it’s sister restaurant The Porch and Cellar. These people know how to deliver delicious food. The burgers are all doubles. Two delicious and grilled right 4 oz. patties that would equal one large burger anywhere else. The buns that they are served on are fresh, soft and delicious. Many different menu options were ordered at our table. The names of the menu items are really fun and creative- very well thought out by the creators. From Mess my Sh#rt Up to Brooklyn Baby Daddy to Call me the Dude, you will definitely find something that pleases your taste buds.

My husband and I both chose the BBWT (pic on the left and not the best feature of the burger but it gives an idea;). It’s a burger with Texas bacon, bacon jam (oh so yummy), watercress, tomato and mayo. It was awesome! I would definitely have this again and again. The pic on the right is a good capture of the Brooklyn Baby Daddy that our son ordered. It is a delicious concoction of the two 4 oz.burgers with pastrami, provolone, coleslaw and special sauce.

Burgers are served with pickles and what they call umami (not sure what that means, but it might mean delicious because that’s what they are:)fries.

The menu features MANY other interesting choices which we look forward to trying in the near future. They have a really good thing going here at Hot Chip Burger Bar and we look forward to dropping in again soon.
