We love Chester’s. It is conveniently located downtown in the Shops at University Square area on the street level. As you walk in the door the aromas and warmth from the wood fire oven and the brick and dim lit decor welcome you with a warm and comfortable feel. Happy apps can be ordered in the bar area. We ordered a few different options, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the choices.

This time we ordered the rotisserie chicken wings, the Thai flatbread, chicken lettuce wraps and the walleye sliders.

The wings are marinated in a house rotisserie spice and then grilled. They are served with the sauce of your choice-bang bang, BBQ, Amablu Blu Cheese or chipotle ranch. They are cooked in the wood-fired oven and are meaty and delicious. You can see the Walleye sliders that come with fries on the left. Walleye sliders-the Walleye cakes are served with “made from scratch tartar sauce” & lemon. The tartar sauce is delicious but the cakes were a little dry and bready. I love Walleye, but I would not order this dish again.

The flatbread is bursting with several different flavors. Grilled Asian chicken, pineapple salsa, peanut sauce and cilantro. YUM! Please give this a try. It is really good.

My favorite was the chicken lettuce wraps with tender ground chicken sautéed with Shiitake mushrooms & water chestnuts you can wrap that in bibb lettuce and top it with peanut & plum sauce. They are absolutely delicious. Very healthy, light and scrumptious.

The price for the quality is outstanding, You can’t beat a great downtown location with a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere and awesome happy apps:)!

P.S~ the calamari is outstanding.
