Pescara

We have not found a better place for seafood in Rochester. Interestingly enough it has also been voted to have the best steak in Rochester. We tried both. We were not disappointed!

It is fresh and they are experts in preparation. What the menu lacks in quantity it abounds in quality. The fresh selection of seafood may differ each day.

We started off with the tender and delicious Bang Bang Calamari. It is very good and different from any calamari we have ever had. It has a very light batter and delicious sauce with what hints to an Asian food influence.

Scott ordered the shrimp. You have an option of getting it prepared three different ways.  Broiled, sauteed or fried. He chose sauteed. They were large, tender and done just right. The sides are ordered a la carte so Scott chose broccoli with a lemony hollandaise sauce.Pescara

I ordered the filet mignon because of the awards it has received. For a restaurant that specializes in seafood- they do steak just as well! It was absolutely delicious. I absolutely recommend trying this filet-but don’t order it medium well. I tend to do that because I am on of those people who does NOT like to see red in the middle, but for this I would recommend having a little there. They offer a few different sauces to top it with. I chose the Bearnaise and loved it. As an a la carte side, I chose the sauteed mushrooms. This was the only negative of the meal. I love mushrooms, and especially with a steak, but these were extremely salty. So salty that we could barely eat them. Just a note -The quantity of the a la carte abounds and is easily shared by two.Pescara

For dessert – Chocolate Torte- delicious, fudgy, creamy, not too sweet, decadent and must have chocolate torte. This is one of those crazy good chocolate things! Pescara 3

Pescara never disappoints. The service was impeccable. Darren was one of the best, as far as being attentive, pleasant and helpful, that we have had in Rochester. It was a wonderful birthday dinner:).
