Terza

Amore! This was a wonderful place to visit for Valentine’s weekend. My daughter and I inadvertently dined there twice on Saturday. I’m NOT complaining! My mom’s birthday is the 13th of February so my two sisters brought mom to town and Mom said she wanted Italian food. My husband had already made reservations here for dinner earlier in the week but I loved eating here twice in one day. What a treat! Terza has an open kitchen concept. You can sit at the back bar and watch the chefs work bringing their creations together or you can sit at the bar area in the front which looks out to Broadway or at one of the booths or cozy tables. It’s an interior of rich woods and warm brick.

Lunch: We started with the calamari, which we have had before, and it is usually delicious. This time it was very chewy. Terza offers $10 select lunches and also a regular lunch menu. Mom, me and one of my sisters orded the lasagna and the house salad. Absolutely delicious. Note-the lasagna does not contain meat. Just cheese, pasta and delicious red sauce. The house salad is really good too. My daughter order the veggie plate. A large amount of wonderfully roasted vegetables and balsamic was served and she loved it. My other sister ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. It looked delicious and she really liked it. Dessert:  Mom LOVES her ice cream and they offered a complimentary one scoop with a chocolate drizzle. The rest of us ordered two to share. The Crema al Limone  and the Chocolate Almond Tortino. The Limone is for lemon lovers. Delectably creamy and very lemony garnished with a mint leaf. Terza LimoneWe all tried a spoonful but we were too distracted by the chocolate….whoa! If you don’t ever decided to eat a meal here-please, please go and enjoy this amazing dessert. It is rich in flavor, not too overly sweet, amazing chocolate and almond flavor in the cake and the Bailey’s zabaglione  frosting/drizzle on top made it complete. This ‘dolci’  (pictured below after the dinner review) is absolutely worth the price and the calories!

Dinner:

They offered a special Valentine’s menu. We started with the calamari again. It was delicious and much more tender than it was at lunch.I hadn’t tried the pizza yet so I order the prosciutto and fig pizza. I has a light olive oil and garlic brushed over the delicious crust, topped with just the right amount of cheese, some greens and, of course, prosciutto . If you aren’t into highly salty foods don’t order this! Prosciutto (Italian ham) by nature is cured and, therefore, salty. It is delicious when cut thin and sprinkled in dishes but huge pieces on a pizza proved to be too much for me. The serving size of the pizza’s is more than enough for two people. Terza PizzaOur daughter, Mackenzie, ordered the scallops. She said they were delicious and melted in her mouth. Four large scallops were served with a serving of risotto in the middle of the plate. Beautiful presentation. The picture doesn’t really do it justice. Terza scallops

My husband is a meat LOVER and he ordered the cassoulet. I guessed that word meant an Italian casserole. I Googled it and that was correct. He absoutely loved it and would order it again. He thought it was expensive  for the serving size but he did have leftover’s and, hey, it was the Valentine’s eve pricing:). The cassoulet was presented in a ceramic pot and had white beans topped with vegetables, braised duck, grilled chicken, and Italian sausage.

For dessert-we couldn’t resist ordering the  Chocolate Almond Tortino again so Scott could try it. It was just as amazing for dinner as it was for lunch! This is definitely worth a trip to Terza in itself. Enjoy!
