ZZest

This menu challenges you to step outside of the norm. It has such an interesting and fresh selection. Zzest felt hip and cozy. There is a really cool atmosphere here. Guests can enjoy the kitchen bar to watch the chefs do their culinary magic or the beverage bar on the other side. Each side has booths and tables. This establishment has a downtown feel to it.Not a strip mall (where it is located) but they must be doing something right because they have been there for quite awhile.

We visited late in the afternoon so we just wanted to order an appetizer. Some of the things described were hard to envision but we decided on the House Pulled Mozzarella. The mozzarella is fresh and pulled into the size of a very small pizza. It is topped with an olive tapenade,  a crumble of lamb’s bacon, pepitas ( I had to asked what this was…pumpkin seeds – and they are delicious), and smoked salt then topped with a half of a pear. It is then finished with a drizzle of pumpkin oil. I have never had anything quite like this combination before but I would definitely order it again. Soft mozzarella meets the crunch of the bacon and the tangy tapenade with the sweetness of the pear. Yum. My husband on the other hand…he’s a trooper and he gave it a try. He won’t be ordering that anytime soon and probably not ever again.

I would definitely stop by here again and order an entree or another appetizer. It’s a great place to stop by and the server was professional and did a fantastic job. I would encourage you to look up their menu online. There are some really interesting dishes on there. Enjoy!Zzest
