Our daughter had some business to take care of at Grand Rounds so she asked us to meet her for a late lunch last week. Once again, we were not disappointed. We love this place! She ordered the Pesto Chicken Sandwich. I wrote about that delicious sandwich in an earlier post. My husband ordered the house salad with chicken. He said it was good. Just good. I had the Thai Chicken Salad. YUM!! Curried chicken, beautiful greens and mandarin oranges all topped with Thai peanut dressing, onion crisps and chopped peanuts. This dish is light and so flavorful. Perfect for lunch. Absolutely worth a try. Enjoy!
Tonight we went downtown to check out the lighting of the tree on Peace Plaza and look at all of the other Christmas lights and decorations. The dinner at Grand Rounds on the corner of Broadway and historic 3rd St. was amazing. This time the service was excellent. So good that we would even request Kevin to be our server again if he is still there next time.
When I saw the ‘beef and the bird’ on the menu, on my phone before we left, I knew what my husband would order. He did and he loved it. It’s his kind of yum…sliced steak with 2 medium over easy eggs on top of it.
The fries are ok here but in lieu of those we paid the up-charge for a great salad of mixed greens and the restaurant’s own very mild but flavorful vinaigrette.
I have heard amazing reviews on the burgers so I ordered the BrewQue Burger. That is what is pictured on this post. Three huge onion rings (a little heavy on the batter and grease but great taste) topped this burger with provolone, bacon bits with the bacon jam and a special sauce called beerbeque. This burger had fantastic flavor. It was just the right size. The texture…it crumbled. We removed the bread/buns so I cut the burger with a fork and knife and it crumbled into little pieces and was a little difficult to pick it all up with a fork. I’m not sure why it did that but I would definitely give this burger a chance.
The beer that is brewed onsite is delicious. Whether you like a stout (they have a coconut flavored one and it’s awesome) a lager, IPA, a Kolsch style or a scotch ale – they have you covered. This is downtown. chic…
